Ok, so I have new roots which have developed high up on several of my plants. Like, on the upper half of a 10 inch high plant (hygrophila siamensis as well as Althernanthera lilacana, for example)

So my bone head question: Am I supposed to a) cut the top part of the plant starting at the new root and re-plant using the newly grown root or b) just let the new roots hang there, or c) cut the new roots off because they look kind of stupid swinging in the wind.

Help this plant newbie, please!

You can do
A.
B.
And C. AFAIK.

I usually leave roots alone. Cut my plants when they hit the surface. Trim leaves off the bottom and replant the tops. Frequent trimming will also keep your stems fuller. I trim mine weekly because I have small tanks.
