Rain machine

It's been raining a lot lately here and I want to spread the fun to the fish and make a rain machine. Nothing to complex but could I do something as simple as attach a power head to a pipe running into small pvc pipe with holes drilled periodically?

People have done it, you'll just have to search the ole internet. On a timer, pulling colder water from a source tank. Colder water (like rain) helps encourage some species to spawn

That's also another reason I'd like to do this because I got some Cory cats that look like they got some eggs and I've been trying to encourage them to no avail
