Rainbows. Cool water or not?

Or I guess a better way to pose this question would be can they take tropical temps.
I've read conflicting info on this.
I particularly like the look of Boseemani Rainbows, but they would be going in a tank that's going to be kept @ 78F.
If these wouldn't work are there rainbows that are more tropical?

My bosemani rainbows did fine in 86 degree temps over the summer.

78F is fine for rainbows. They do like warm water.

i keep my rainbows in 77 degrees and they're happy.

personally i dont like to generalize. there always a exception to any fish group. over all most you see in the hobby are tropical.
