I have a water softener.
Inside water is softened outside water is hard.
Inside water (in tank) reads at a pH 8.3 GH 53.7 (after adding Equilibrium) and KH 8
Outside water is pH 8.0 (after sitting for 24 hrs no agitation), GH 179 and a KH of 10
My new mystery snails haven't done well. One is dead and gone and the other isn't looking great.
There are 6 Danios in the tank. I want to switch to the outside water with a higher GH for the snails.
Does this need to be done gradually? Or can I just switch out in 5 gallon water changes every couple of days? Or 50% in one day? and another 50% 2 days later?
Are they sensitive to changes in KH or GH?
Thanks!
Jana
