The rasboras I've had for about 6 months now have started acting strangly... Normally they are fairly calm but all of a sudden they are swimming around very fast and turning upside down under the plant leaves. I know this is a breeding type activity for them but it is the first time I've seen them do it. Does anybody know how to tell males from females?

If you mean harliquen Rasbora then when they are turning upside down they ate trying to drop eggs! They could have around 100 eggs watch out! In my opinion you are very lucky because I find these fish really hard to breed
