red sholder/bicolor blue getting agressive out of no where

just as the title says... he woke up one day in a bad mood and has been this way for about a week. if he keeps it up its in iso for him because its starting to stress my other cichlids. what would cause this?

Impossible to say really, but it's not uncommon for a cichlid to become more aggressive w/out any apparent reason. Any females in the tank?

Yes we have females in the tank. We did buy him with a female we were told was one he'd mate with. Maybe we'll have some babies in our future?

It just happens, cichlids especially Africans are aggressive fish.
