refugium

I have a refugium below my DT tank using felexible tubing for the water transfer. I am getting alot of algea build up. Any ideas what I can use to move the water from the tank to the refugium? unfortunatly, DT is near a window with a shade, still getting algea build up. Afraid it is a breeding ground for parasites. Is tubing from the hardware store safe? Maybe I could use black tube, will that help the buildup?

I think black tubing would be fine, but getting it at the LFS or marinedepot.com would be best. Check what material it is if you do get it at the hardware store to make sure it won't leach anything.

I would just do PVC.
