Removing Dead Leaves

My rotala indica leaves died off during its acclimation period and is now sending out green leaves. Should I remove all the dead leaves and just leave the tiny new ones, or can I just wait and have them fall off?

When this happens in my tank I will prune the dead leaves off and let the new leaves grow a bit then I chop the top off and plant the new stem.
