Rinse Matrix and Purigen

Hey.... just picked up some Seachem matrix to put in my filter. Do I need to rinse it before use? Will tap water do? Also got a bag of Purigen, do I need to rinse that?

You could rinse the matrix in tap water prior to use. Shipping and vibration may have created dust.
Purigen should be ready to go without any rinsing.

Thanks.... yeah there is some dust in the Matrix. I figured as much with the Purigen but wanted to make sure.

Seachem recommend that Purigen is rinsed before use. I rinse mine but have never seen anything washed out, maybe it's just a precaution.
