RO membrane question

Does anyone have a general feel for how many gallons can be pulled from the typical RO membrane before it is replaced? I’m curious about all the types, TFC, CTA or High Removal, but if anyone has experience with any one of these I’d be thrilled for the info.

I think some of this has to do with the quality of the water that your running thru the RO membrane. Our sponsor AquaFX might be able to give you a rough guideline based upon his experences.

i have noticed that 500gal in my area is a good time. you can get more with a flusing of the unit every 100gals, corallife says 1,000 gal with flushing the unit. this means reversing the red [wastewater] and the blue [ro water] every 100 gal for 15min. then putting the hoses back to where they were. my membrain cost 75.00 so i flush every 100 gal. i have 750gal on my membrain now, still no nitrates,phos or anything else.
