Recently I purchased an RODI unit for my nano reef because of the overwhelming benefits I’ve heard. I want to make sure I’m using it correctly. After the water comes out of the unit is it safe to just add salt to get to the desired salinity and then add to my tank? Or do I have to remineralize the water with something else? I’ve also heard that people use RODI water as a freshwater top off, should I add it to my system this way instead of water changes? Any input is appreciated.

You should use it for top off and your water changes. With 0 TDS it won't take very long to have things in pristine condition!

Thanks for the input. Is it ok to add pure RODI water as a top off or should I add something to it?

When using pure RODI as top-off, the only thing I add is love. Nothing else.

Use gallon jugs with a pin hole in the bottom!!! Just dunk them in the 5 gal bucket and theyll fill up!
