Rosey Barbs?

I was thinking that when I get my new apartment and get a bigger tank I would like to keep Rosey Barbs. I hear that they are great at keeping algae down in planted tanks plus they seem quite nice to look at. However, I don't seem to be able to find any info on these guys. A quick google search brought up a bunch of dud links and varieites but no real info.

Can anyone point me to a good learning spot? Thanks
