I just bought a royal Gramma today and my damsel is acting really aggressive towards him. Is this something I should worry about or will it work itself out in a little while.
Demsels are very aggressive fish I had to rehome mine because he got really nasty with every fish I put in the tank. All my fish start to hide all the time and as soon as I got rid of him they all came out of hiding and seem so calm now
It seems the OP might have an Azure damsel...a blue one with a yellow belly. It's supposed to be one of the less aggressive damsels. I had one. It left everyone alone but it staked out a little territory and defended it. It's not as mean as a domino damsel which goes after every fish in the tank. It just protect its territory like clownfish protect anemones.
