Runner or root?

It helps to show the entire plant as only certain plants throw runners. But it appears to be a root.
 
It's an amazon sword.

Amazon swords actually throw runners BUT they come out of the plant and head towards the surface. Daughter plants grow along the runner and can be cut off and replanted once each daughter plant develops enough roots to sustain the plant. Be sure to use root tabs as Swords are heavy root feeders.
 
I do use root tabs should I bury the exposed roots. Also, while I can should I move it more towards the background?
 
You just need to push it under the substrate. As for moving the sword remember it needs a lot of room as they grow quite large so if you do move it back some don't put it right up against the glass in the back.
