It was a couple month ago when we went to Santa Cruz and while driving back home we stop at Scott Creek and beside it was a ocean so I went all the way to the left side and like through water path I saw a sucker fish with white stripe on it. I wanted to catch it but I didn't know what it was and there was hermit crab and I didn't want to get pinch. Any idea what fish is it?

It's like 5-7 inches

They grow bigger but im not sure how big. Pilots have white stripes

Edit - are you talking about this? A remora?
