saltwater to freshwater

I have an 80 gallon fish tank I'm going from saltwater to freshwater , I have a wet dry filter and I was wondering if it would work with fresh water and if I would need to modify it if it would work. Also can I use my sand and rock .

You should be able to use the old sand and rock in the new tank. That being said there will probably be a ton of die off from the salinity drop causing a lot of ammonia. It might be better to sell your current live rock and buy some much cheaper lace rock.

The filter should also be just fine. Wet dry filters are more suited to fresh water usage than salt anyways.
