Sand or Gravel?

It's getting to be time for me to do a full tank clean and while I currently use sand in my tank i was thinking about switching to gravel. I currently have black Tahitian moon sand but was wondering what everyone else's opinion is on gravel vs. sand?

Depends on type of fish, what you like, and what benefits you want

I prefer sand for looks and ease of maintenance. I use Tahitian Moon and Torpedo Beach in all my tanks.

I like sand over gravel. It's a cleaner look and the sand doesn't trap all the waste.

I have always used gravel and on my next tank thinking of trying sand. I have found gravel traps too much waste.

i prefer sand over gravel...but it depends on what kind of fish you're keeping. i have sand and gravel in my BW tank, and gravel in my FW tank.

you could always do a mixture

I've got a freshwater set up now with community fish. I nearly got rid of the sand about 6 months ago when I could not get rid of an infestation of trumpet snails, but I seem to have finally gotten the better of them because they were becoming quite unsightly.
