Scratching gills?

I have a 30 gallon tank with a jewel, Kenyi, Auratus, and jack dempsey

I do 50% water change twice a week feed them nls pellets

All of them have started rubbing their gills on the decor at first it was just the Auratus

What should I do?

Are the gills red? Or inflamed?

Check your parameters. That could easily be ammonia burns

As far as the flashing fish do that when something is irritating their skin, this could be meds, rapid PH swings, parasites, or poor water conditions like high nitrates. How are you testing your water and what are your current conditions? Please add details like ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels, but if this happens after a water change a PH swing is the most likely culprit.
