Set up of new tank

We have been given a 101L tank and set it up a week ago, 10 fish dead now and only put them in sunday! Need advice on keeping tropical fish please

Was the aquarium cycled before adding fish?

Our tank was set up thursday, water was checked and all was fine

Ammonia, nitrate, fresh water, salt water. Had it done by a pet shop
