Setting up a 35g

So recently i went to the fish store to buy some more fish for one of my fish tanks, and while i was there i took a look at the saltwater section. It looked great and i needed to have one. So im doing my research and i was wondering if i could get away with not have a skimmer or would it be very recomendable to have one

Never had one on mine. But that was 15 years ago.

I'd want a skimmer on anything over 20 or so gallons but it is doable without one. Are you planning on drilling the 35 gallon for a sump?
