Pic #1. Pearl Scale Green Texas Carpintis. Probably male judging by the dorsal fin.
Pic #2. RIvulatus / Green Terror, difficult to determine from pic, but guessing male.

Compare those to pics of my late male 6 y.o. Green Terror and my 2 y.o. probable female Texas Cichlid.

In regard to the Rivulatus, I would expect to see more of a nuchal hump in a male. Im glad you said male...I want a male Rivulatus. But im worried because he/she doesnt have much of a hump. I will get you some more pics..Thank you for your help
 
Not all male RIvulatus grow nuchal humps. My pictured GT didn't, but he grew thick and colorful.
