Sexing my young rams - gold and blue

What's the best way to sex my rams? They are both still small, I'd say around 1.5", can I tell for sure yet? Is it true that both gold and blue females will have a pinker belly?

Yes. It can be hard if they are young, though. For german blue rams look for flecks inside the dark spot on their side to figure out which are females. As far as finnage/fin coloration goes, it's hard to tell because males and females are starting to share the traits.

Is it true the spine lengths in their fin have something to do with it?

Ok I was hoping to clarify that, if I can see any blue flecks in the black spot, that indicates female?

Ok I finally found some good pics of male vs female for the GBR's. Seems the golds are more tricky?

yeah golds and ebrs are more tricky. When they are adult size the males are substantially larger and usually have a more flowing dorsal fin, though.
