I am going to be getting some RCS, and I read that copper is bad for them. I looked up the ingredients in the leaf zone that I have, and there is copper. Is there a better fertilizer that I could use with the shrimp? Also, I'm going to get the shrimp in about a month...would 4 50% water changes be enough to get the existing copper out of my water?

One more question (sorry, I am new to all of this), I have 2 add currently in my 13 gallon tank. Will they get along with the RCS?

The small amount of copper in plant fertilizer will not kill your shrimp. As long as you follow dosing directions and do not add massive amounts you will be okay. Weekly water changes are all that is needed if all other water conditions are fine. I have blue pearls and ghost shrimp and have used that fertilizer with not problems. I did not understand your second question. Are you asking if shrimp will cross breed? Yes, they will if that is what you are asking.

Sorry...auto correct, lol! I was just wondering if my African dwarf frogs would get along with the RCS? Thanks for the info on the fertilizer!

You can purchase a copper test kit to ease your mind. I always tested the water before I did a water change just in case it always showed there was none but it made me feel better so I wouldn't worry. I'm not sure about mixing ADF and shrimp, I've had them together before but with ghost shrimp and neither messed with the other.
