Hi everybody!

I recently set up a 20g planted tank and so far have 4 guppies and a few nice plants. The tank is supposed to be dedicated to growing plants but I've shifted my focus to both plants and animals. I'm interested in adding some cherry shrimp or ghost shrimp to excite the tank a bit. I'd also like to add some snails for algae control. It's been awhile since I've been in the freshwater hobby as I just left the saltwater hobby a few years ago. Therefore I don't know much about freshwater inverts. So please tell me what kind of snails I can get that won't multiply like crazy and cause a huge problem because remember that my tank is only 20g. I think I'll just go with a few cherry or ghost shrimp (like 3). Tell me what you think! Any advice is appreciated!

Here's a pic of the tank because why not...

Thanks,

Sam

You need to add more plants to give the shrimp hiding spots from e yuppies. Unfortunately all snails breed but mystery snails would probably be your best option. I wouldn't get ghost shrimp and with cherry you could keep a lot more than 3. I'd probably my start with 10-20

What about nerite snails? I heard they don't breed in captivity. Also +1 for more hiding spaces, and for doing more shrimp.
