Hi there. I bought 10 cherry reds at a show a few weeks back and this little guy hitched a ride. I have no clue what he is. He is blue. This is the best photo I could get.
Thanks

I am new to the shrimp game, so I will defer to you guys, but just Saturday I bought 10 blue pearls. This is a pic of one of them. He seems to be ice blue all thruout whereas the other little fella seems to be banded with darker blue. I've read that Blue Pearls will color up after a time, but I don't think they will get as dark as the other fella is.

@shrimpybusiness
I couldn't give you a name of who I got it from. It was at the GCCA show here in Chicago at the end of January. Like I say, he just hitched himself along somehow. He was extremely small but he seems to be growing.

Yup, I'd have to say you are right. And yowza..they ain't cheap. I feel kinda bad having just one, but I don't see myself shelling out for more anytime soon

Based off your pic looks like you have a female ( I can tell because off the saddle) but I may be wrong

I put the blue pearls in the same bowl. I have to get her out of there, right?

You can leave them in there if you want. Its up to you

Oh it would be much easier to leave her in there. I don't have to worry about a blue pearl trying to breed with her?

They will breed but hey at least there breeding

I would leave it in there. I've been breeding blue rili for a while and found there's a lot of variation in their coloring.

I'm kinda new to shrimp but everything I've read says not to let them cross-breed. I also have one cherry red in the bowl as well

There are a few Facebook groups of some very hard core shrimp keepers who actually say it's not a problem keeping them together. I have oranges and yellows in the same tank that have been breeding true so far. And I'm planning to add some carbon rili in with my blue rili.

Ooh...I never thought of looking for shrimp keepers on FB. Thanks for the tip

Yeah I joined one group on FB. Lovely Shrimp. I have a club member who gets amazing Shrimp on occasion, but most are beyond my price range.

Check out Speedie Aquatics for Shrimp porn pics LOL J/k
