I have had shrimp before an i noticed from time they get sucked into the HOB filter is there an easy attractive way to avoid this? Second i kinda wanted to put a night light on my aquarium is there any pros or cons to this maybe just a small led so i can enjoy my aquarium at night

A sponge cover for your intake will keep shrimp out of it. As for adding a little LED moonlight is fine. Use it for a few hours but be sure to turn it off so the tank gets a few good hours of darkness. You can always put it on a timer. On my 220g my last lights go off at 7pm, the LED Moonlights kick on then and turn off at 11pm. The tank has no light until the next morning when lights come on a 9am. You can still use Moonlights and give your tank plenty of dark hours.
