Aleight, so i am setting up at 1.5 gallon tetra cube shrimp tank! I am wondering if a 150 watt 230 volts will be too much for the tank?

I believe shrimp do well anywhere from about 65°-80°. If your house temp is in that area a heater may not be required for that. If anything, I would choose a much smaller wattage heater. I have read that the higher 70's will encourage more territorial behavior depending on the species. I'm still doing research as I'm debating wether or not to set one up for use as feeders.

When I was researching the set up needs for my shrimp tank most things I read advised against using a heater (assuming it is shrimp only).
FWIW, my shrimp seem to be doing ok without one... even reproducing.
