Shy clown loaches?

In my three foot tropical tank i have two clown loaches, however they are very shy, would adding a few more make them a little more confident?

It should. They like to be in groups of 6 or more. When mine come out usually all 6 come out or 3. Mine also tend to come out and become a little more active at night than during the day

Eventually that thank probably wont be big enough either. They grow to be very large but they are slow growers
