Have 5 Albino Cory catfish. I have had them for about 1 year. This week I noticed their pectoral fins are almost done to stubs and some of their mouth barbs are shorter or missing? Is this fin rot? Or something else? Can it be treated? Someone told me it could be pH problem?

What is your levels of ammonia nitrites and nitrates? Have you seen any fluctuations in pH, which could make them super sensitive and susceptible to disease? Have you cleaned any of the filter cartrdiges or replaced them?

I do 20% water change every week. I clean filter every 2 weeks. Ammonia nitrates nitrites all good. I did start adding black water extract a few weeks ago? Could that cause this issue?

If you added too much it could have cause a pH swing that would have shocked your fish.

Will the fins grow back? Anything I can do until then?

Lots of clean water. Up your PWCs to 50% a week and maybe do small PWCs every other day for while until they heal. Keep an eye on the toxin levels and PH.
