Ok ladies and gents, I’m kind of in a dilemma and would like to get some advice. I have two Green Terrors one is about 2.5 inches and the other is about 3inches. They use to be in my 300gal tank (which received weekly 30%-40% water changes and vacuuming every other week) with other similar sized S/C American Cichlids, but are currently divided in a 10gal. I removed them from the 300gal because they had white feces and were barely eating so I assumed some type of internal parasite. I treated the 300gal with salt and soaking the food in Metro for about 4 days to make sure the others didn’t get sick as well and so far no signs in the larger tank. I treated the two Green Terrors in the 10gal hospital tank (with a heater set at about 85 and a bubble filter with filter floss) with an intensive amount of Clout for a week, which didn’t work. So I tried Metro in the tank and also soaking their food in the Metro for another week, I would do water changes twice a week of about 40-50%, this didn’t work either. I tried Jungle parasite Clear for a couple days and no luck as well, so next I tried salt for about 5 days with feeding Pepso food, no luck either. Now I am trying the Jungle Parasite clear again. It has been over a month since these guys have been in the 10 gal and are still alive and kicking, barely eating anything and still have white Feces coming out. I’m getting frustrated because they aren’t getting better. I’m starting to get to the point where treating them with more and more meds will hurt them in the long run and that maybe I should put them to sleep. I don’t think prolonging their lives with the condition they are in is a way for them to live. I guess I am having a hard time determining what to do because they were my first Cichlids I ever purchased. Now my questions:

1. Are Green Terrors susceptible internal parasites or bacteria?
2. Is there anything else I can do to try to cure them?
3. What things can I do to prevent this from re-occurring?
4. What other options do I have?

Are Green Terrors susceptible internal parasites or bacteria?
All fish are.
Is there anything else I can do to try to cure them?
Look through these sites and see if your fish' syptoms match up with a particular disease:

What things can I do to prevent this from re-occurring?
Once you find out what it is, you will be more in control.

What other options do I have?
Something tells me you just haven't treated with the proper meds and that is why the illness has continued. I once treated 6 little fish for what I thought was ich, then I was told it was velvet. What they really had was a bacterial infection and I lost 5 of them because raising the tank temp encouraged bacterial growth and I never used the proper medication

Thanks Menagerie for the websites and the advice. I check the sites out and see if I can better determine the problem and hopefully find the correct solution. Thanks again.
