Any one know how long I can keep Silver Scats in my FW Tank (115g non-planted). I just picked up two from my LFS. They're currently in my QT Tank. LFS says they can live in a FW Tank for quite a while (1-2 years), however I been reading sites that say they should be placed in brackish water ASAP.

What are your thoughts?

How well will they get along with their new tank mates (when the get in the tank)?

Here's my current stock:
1 common pleco
2 blood parrot
5 angels
4 clown loachs
1 red fin shark
6 ruby barbs
1 black ghost knife

they are high-end brackish water fish. It's better to keep them in full marine water to help reduce long-term cost. IMO you should at least keep them in some kind of brackish water or return them.

Just to follow-up.

I exchanged my "Silver Scats" for "Red Hook Silver Dollars". Currently there still in my QT tank but I think they will work out well.

Cool. Post some pics when they're in your main tank! The red hooks are really neat fish.
