First let me preface this post by stating my tank is flourishing and corals are growing and spreading. In addition my main parameters PH, phosphates, dkh, Calcium are good however Nitrates are high (80). My question is I am getting very little skimmate From skimmer (coral-life skimmer). I am not certain if it is malfunctioning or can a tank have so few organics you get almost no skimmate? I am running carbon and do use carbon dosing (sugar vinegar) I was thinking to lower nitrates with carbon dosing I should see high production from my skimmer.
