Snails & Plants

I have done planted tanks in the past. Thing is I find a majority of aquatic plants have snails. What are the ways to eliminate these?

Like dip the plant in something before planting it, or some other alternative?

Most of the snails that hitchhike in on plants are do not pose a problem for the plants and some are even excellant algae eaters. If you want to get rid of the snails anyway, you can use one of the dip/baths listed on Steve Hampton's site.
