i have been clipping my Cabomba from the tops and still have healthy plants and growth.
Seems to me clipping tips and pulling rooted part out to t6ransplant with the unrooted tips seens like some bad hairdressing:lol: that I heard on my journey on Cabomba trimming.

25 Gal Planted co2
1 Betta
3 Wisteria
2 Diandra
6 Camcomba
1 Amazon Sword
1 Anubias Barteri
2 Red Wendtii
2 Dwarf Saggitaria
2 Micro Swod
8 Contotional Val

I heard some sat their rooted part died and some have continual healthy growth after clipping tops.

Oh I cut mine twice a month, i've never lost one. Just cut it remove the bottom leaves, stick it in the ground.

I clip them from the top and they are fine and even grow new tops.
There growth slowed a bit.
Replanting tops seems to take a long time to get roots and my substrate is sand so I just dispose of the tops.
