Something's wrong with my cichlid!

Our red zebra af. cichlid has something wrong with his mouth. It looks like his mouth is sort of stretched out a bit and he can't seem to open it very wide. He can barely get flakes in his mouth but he seems eager to eat. Almost like he's got something stuck in there... we are WORRIED.
Anyone know what's happening?

My angelfish had the same thing happen to it...it's mouth was too small to eat anything...crush up some flakes and it'll be able to eat it

I think he coughed up a piece of gravel... seems better now. False alarm!
