Starting new reef 1st time

Im starting reef tank for the 1st time. Open to all advise. I have 30 gallon tank. First of all how much LS should I need for 30 gallon.

id use like 40lbs of sand,at lesat enough to have a 3'' sand bed.

Hi! Welcome to the forum!

you can use plain old sand, doesnt have to be live. the "live" part will come in time.

If you want an average sandbed depth i would go with about 40lbs or so. Also depends on the foot print of the tank.

I talked to this guy he is going to sle me some LS . How do I make sure it live . The reason I'm trying to use LS coz people said its going to make it easy for the tank to stabilize

So here is the tank... Adding few equipment later... Just added salt. Getting my LS 2nte.
