Stocking 45 gallon

Hello I currently have 6 black skirt tetra (3 long fin, 3 glofish tetra) and a mustard pleco. After I fix my algae bloom ill probably get a few more black skirts and was wondering if anyone had other interesting fish ideas that would fit in the 7.6-7.8 ph range.

Do they need to be kept in groups? How tall should my gravel be? And how long do they get? Assuming they're bottom dwelling for the most part.
