Stocking 55 gallon

I will soon be getting a 55 gallon tank.
I will be getting a large number of loaches. How many could I get? Can you mix cichlids with loaches?

That is a very open question. The best answer is: "It depends".
There are over 100 species of loaches and 1,000 species of cichlids. The requirements for pH, temperature, hardness, tank mates, and tank size can vary widely. You should narrow your search criteria.
