Stocking ideas for 20 gallon long?

Hi guys, I'm working on fixing up my old tank. Currently it's down to 4 neon tetras (was originally 8), and once it's all cleaned up I'm going to add another 3-5. It's a 20 gallon long tank with sand, and an Aqueon 30 (200gph) filter.

What are some other fish ideas?

I'm considering something along the lines of 8 neons, a German Blue/Bolovian ram, and maybe some pygmy or panda corys.

I was also considering replacing the ram with a betta. Could I have two schools of small fish in there, neon tetras and something maybe a little bigger?

Yep. Your on the right track. Add 4 or more to the neons, and either 5-6 smaller corys or kuhli loaches. As the centerpiece either a gbr or Bolivian ram would be perfect.
