Stocking list and thoughts

So I've put a 55 gallon together and the dimensions are 48"L 15"w 18"T
Larger granule sand substrate
my current stocking list
1 gold gourami
2 Kribs
2 cockatoo apisto
4 peppered Cory
3 Yoyo loaches
1 peacock eel

Most Everyone sticks to the bottom of the tank and I would like to bring some more life to the mid and top of the tank. Any suggestions on what I can add? And any thoughts on my current stock?

I would up your school to at least 5 yoyo loaches. All botias are highly social and should be kept in the largest group possible.

I'm a big fan of glass catfish. Emperor tetras also spend a lot of time in the top quadrant of the tank.

Cherry barbs and Harlequin rasboras are something to consider, although the rasboras spend more time at the top than the cherry barbs do. On second thought, not sure if the eel would try to eat these.
