hi, right now i have 2 clown loaches in my 20 gal tank. I noticed that they always are just laying on the floor of one of my cave decorations. It looks like they are very sick, and about to die. I know that they arent, because i sometimes see them swimming around, and they do fine. Water peramiters are fine. Is it just because they are timid fish? Could it be because they like the current flow of this certain spot? i am just getting a little worried. any help would be appreciated greatly.[/list]

They can be:
a) timid fish, esp. in a new aquarium

And are:
b) bottom dwellers, and often like to chill.

And are:
c) schooling fish. They do best, and are more confident in groups of 6 or more.

If water parameters are fine, and if the loaches have enough to eat, they're probably ok. Keep an eye on them for disease--dropsy etc--and make sure that your water is suited to their taste. If, for example, your pH is 8, they are not happy. Check out liveaquaria.com for specific tank temp, pH etc: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?siteid=21&pCatId=873

Oh, and you'll need a bigger tank soon enough. These guys grow to a foot!
