I need some plants that are sturdy enough for cichlids. I have a community tank but there are a few cichlids in there like a krib and firemouth. I tried a plant called blynx.. Or something it looks like grass, didn't work, kept floating to the top. My amazon swords are fine, they can't pull those up. So is my Anubis and wisteria. Any other suggestions? I use play sand, root tabs, flourish, and have a 6500 k bulb. Thanks!

If they are just pulling them up have your tried these.... Professional Plant Anchors? I've used them successfully with large fancy goldfish.

If they are eating them java fern and bolbitus are usually left alone.

They don't eat them. They pull them up. I will look into those! Thanks :)

I've used them with Crypts, Swords, Vals, Ambulia, Water Sprite, and several other plants with success. The trick with using them on stem plants is you have to use 3-4 stems per anchor and don't fully cut the "x" on them until you see how wide they need to be.
