Hi
How difficult is it to change a whole tanks substrate? As I know a lot of the bb lives in it. Also is it worth it as I have Dorset pea gravel but would like a good substrate for plants
Thanks

It's not hard at all. Not as much BB lives in your substrate as you may think. Just have some buckets and battery operated air stones if your going to move your fish. Clean the tank really good and gravel vac real good. Your going to stir up a lot of debris.

Just go slow, take your time and you'll be fine.

Convict is right that it's not hard to do. A few months ago I changed out one of the 55g tanks from gravel to Eco-Complete and it didn't take long at all. The fish did just fine and it went as smooth as could be.
