Subwassertang on pyramid

I'm wondering how I can attach some subwassertang to a shrimp pyramid. Do I cut it like java moss or do I take "strands" and secure it?

I would assume you just tie some if it to an area and it will grow on it. It is an odd species but has almost the same characteristics as any moss

I just took a big bush of it and secured it with some fishing line. So on a pyramid would be similar i imagine.
