what is a sump, where does it go, what does it do, how does it work and why might i need one thanks

Google "Melev's Reef" and look at his sump page. A sump is basically a huge filter plus some.

if you are too lazy:

a sump is a second tank, usually below the display tank, that water goes to and then gets pumped out. you can put filter, heaters, pretty much any equipment thats in your display tank can go in there.

Ha I read this and I think"sump" is a combo for super pump!!!
