Swapping filters

Just a basic question. I have 2 canisters established and running on my 72 mbuna tank and want to add a canister to my other ram/community tank so if I take one canister as it is from mbuna tank and move to newer ram tank then add the new canister to mbuna tank with the other with new media will I get that ammonia spike or will it be ok because I have the other established canister still running with it? Ii don't wanna out the new one on the ram tank as I don't have enough established media from hob to use and I'd like to put the established one on there n thanks!

I would put at least a little established media in the new canister, just to be safe.

You should be fine either way. ^^^But true better safe than sorry.
