I recently got an ozelot sword.
1. Has anyone ever seen these? I loved how it looked and had no idea it was a sword.

2. Do swords usually sprout new leaves by "bursting" forth from the center?

It looks to be some kind of sword plant. And yes they will grow new leaves from the center.

Yeah it's an ozelot sword, ever heard of that?? I havent

I'm glad they grow like that I thought that was the new growth and it would drop the old leaves.

Yeah, they aren't very rare.

I absolutely love mine, great coloring and has grown incredibly quickly.

They're a cross between two other swords to give it that leaf shape and the marbled coloring. Be sure you throw some good root tabs under it.

Yes they grow like that, they are called rosette plants because all of the new growth comes from the center. I'll attach a pic of one I have in my nano tank. Ive kept it trimmed and potted to help stunt it's growth so it fits in the tank.

Hope mine get those new leaves up quick. It's was so sad and dead at the store. It's already improved so much so I'm sure it will do great.
