I have a question. I have a 5 gallon hex tank. It's pretty small. With the few decorations and plants I have it will be pretty hard to vacuum the gravel when I need to. Can I take out the live plants and put them back in after cleaning the gravel without hurting them?

Not sure if white ribbons are fully aquatic.

Anyway. Leave the swords in. They don't flourish when moved frequently. Can you take out the decos?

Don't remove the swords just vacuum carefully around them they are heavy root feeders and will develop massive root systems if cared for properly. The white ribbon isn't really an aquatic plant at all. It will die eventually. It's one of those terrestrials they sell as aquarium plants.
