There is also a little mushroom coral that fell off one of the rocks. Just leaving it be as I have no way to attach it to anything. Hopefully it will take hold somewhere.

Thanks, those are Blue Devil Fiji(s). Pretty fish, but as "most" damsels = aggressive :-(

Oh good gravy, what was I thinking? I have that feeling that I got when I started FW. "I need more tanks and they MUST be BIGGER." I'm in trouble.

Hmm. I don't think the cardinals are going to survive. At least one of them isn't. He is barely alive now, he keeps getting sucked up against the power head.

I'm starting to wonder if this power head is too big for this tank. I get nice surface breakage and flow around the entire tank. But I think the flow is too much.

So far everything seems good to go except the one cardinal didn't make it. The other one is staying hidden in one of the caves.

The snowflake coral are opening up today as well.

Sorry about the cardinal. They are pretty shy at first. Mine stayed in a cave for the first month or so until they got comfortable, now they're out all the time.

DISASTER! Last night I added a small anemone to the tank it had attached itself to a rock before I went to bed so I figured everything was cool. When I got up to go to work this morning it had been sucked into the power head and ground into little bits. The entire tank is basically anemone soup. I turned on the HOB filter and left it running, there wasn't anything else I could do this morning.

Any ideas on how to go about cleaning this mess up and what to watch out for over the next week or so? Is everything going to die? Are anemones like coral where every little bit will grow a new animal? Am I going to have to take the entire tank apart and start over?

I'm very ticked off. This power head has been nothing but trouble. I think I need to find the smallest one I can and remove this one.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know nothing about anemone but I'm sure someone will have a course of action for you.

I have two main worries:

1. The stinging cells will kill everything off.
2. The tank is going to go into shock from the flesh decaying.

I guess I'll do a WC tonight and just cross my fingers. I don't see anyway to remove all of the debris without starting over.

I would recommend a large water change, use your siphon tube to get as much tissue off the sand and rocks as possible.

I would start by doing a complete water change. Put all livestock and coral I'm a bucket and do water change and re-acclimate them. I don't know that your powerhead is an issue. From most reading i have done anemones need to be added to an established tank. I want one but this is the reason I have waited. I am not an expert and I'm sure others have other opinions. Sorry to hear about the trouble your having

Water change done. Power head moved. Moved the rocks forward and rearranged a little bit so I can see behind them.

No, only about half. I have to get more water. Will probably do another change tomorrow. Today I spent 2 hours after work getting a pre-op physical. Let me tell you how much fun that wasn't.
