Hi all, I am curious if you can give me input on optimizing my tank for viewing.
I have a mix of guppies, female bettas, cory cats (about 18 of them) and neon tetras in my 55 gallon tank.
There are lots of places to hide (it is well planted) which makes the more skitterish fish (read: cories and neons) happy because they can snuggle in behind a plant and never be seen again by human eyes.
However, this tendency makes me unhappy because I like to look at fish in my fishtank.
Note: absolutely no problem keeping the guppies or bettas in view.

Can anyone suggest a tank or behavior modification I can make to help my shyer fish feel safe browsing around in the front? I've seen it a lot in fish stores where the fish don't seem to mind, but that may simply be because they were overcrowded.

How long have they been in there? My corys usually hide out durning the day, but they are really active at evening time, coincidentally feeding time.
